Grass Heads

Caleb and Jemima went to a party a couple of months ago and the fixings of these little fellows was their take home loot bag. I'm sure we have all seen/done this in some form or another, but I thought I'd share it here because I thought it was a great idea to be reminded of! (Especially if you have a party coming up yourself.)

In the bag was a bit of pantyhose, grass seeds, eyes and a bag of dirt. All we had to do was spoon the dirt in, pop the grass seeds on top and tie it up. Then the kids stuck the eyes on and we watered and waited. When the hair was long enough, the kids gave them haircuts, which was a highlight of the project for sure.

I think they are great- and it was nice not to get more lollies at the end of the day!

Oh you just took me back to my childhood! I haven't thought of or seen grass heads in years - guess what the kids and I will be doing over the school holidays! Thanks for the trip down memory lane ;-)

that is a great 'lolly bag', lasts much longer and something fun for the kids to watch as it grows. look forward to seeing the crazy hair cuts they get :)

Def. locking it away for the next party! I did a little crafty box for our take home to cut down the sugar content a little. Haircuts sound ace

what a great idea!
i don't like the end of party lolly bag as it's always full of lollies & the kids expect it to be aswell.
now this bag I would love to receive!

That is such a great idea... I think we'll be giving that a go sooner rather than later.
